Hello and Happy Monday!
We had a really busy, jam packed weekend with the girls and I didn't get to sit down and write as long of a substack as I had wanted, so please forgive me today.
We went to the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus on Saturday and let me tell you, what a fun experience it was! The show originally went on hiatus from 2017-2023 because of controversies surrounding their use of animals and I think just being a little outdated, however now the show has been revamped with an entirely new lineup. It was two hours of all different kinds of acrobatic performers, clowns, dancers, pyrotechnic experts, BMX bike riders and my personal favorite - the human cannonball at the end. I actually found out the girl named Skyler who does the human cannonball act is a second generation human rocket and was shot out of her first rocket at age 11. How cool is that?
The girls were absolutely mesmerized the entire time. I really cannot endorse this enough for a fun event to take the family to. It is also just nice that in this day and age there are still some things you can rely on that are still consistent in their entertainment. 10/10 all around. Also this is not an ad, I am not being paid for this.
Sunday, Ben took Liberty to her first Hockey game to see the Washington Capitals play the Buffalo Sabers. I cannot believe she is old enough to go to arena games now. I ended the day watching White Lotus and you guys....this show just really isn't doing it for me this season. I hope you guys won't be mad at this but it just really isn't living up to my expectations from the last two seasons. Bring on Pedro Pascal "The Last Of Us" as soon as possible please...
Tonight my still brand new and still growing 2way show is at 5pm eastern (every Monday and Wednesday) on youtube on the 2way channel. You can also join the conversation live on the 2way app and zoom link that I will share on my X account if you want to come and ask a question. I am having my friend and political analyst Ryan Girdusky on with a special appearance from my oldest girlfriend Sarah who is joining to give an Arizona mom's perspective on politics in my purple state. Sarah and I have literally known each other since we were in preschool and she is a very important person to me and my family. I hope you will join. Startups and new shows are always a leap of faith in the beginning and we are still in the building phase so I would really love it if you would join or watch.
We are also still figuring out what the future of the Citizen McCain podcast is. As our listeners are aware we have had a slew of different management and partnerships that have quite frankly been a bit of a bust. We are still taking meetings and looking for ways for the show to continue with the team we have. I am not a businesswoman, in fact I am so far from it, it is comical and the emphasis on needing to be a businessperson and an analyst these days I quite frankly find ridiculous and overwhelming. Stay tuned but we are still chugging along at the moment, albeit very slowly.
Finally, over the weekend President Trump on a Sunday morning call with NBC said he was "not ruling out running for a third term" and "there are methods of which you can do it". One of the proposed methods this could happen I have heard thrown around is if Vice President Vance were to run for President and make President Trump his running mate and then step down if he were elected. This is obviously a seemingly far fetched and unrealistic concept - but one thing I have learned over the past few years, is that I take everything seriously. Last year I was given the opportunity to review the A24 movie "Civil War" before it was released to the public to give my review as a political analyst. If you have not seen the film, it is really well done and I found it to be wildly accurate of a real life scenario that could hypothetically happen. The plot of the movie is a civil war breaks out in the United States with "Western Forces" of the states of Texas and California seceding from the union because the President in power is somehow elected or puts himself in a third term. Obviously this is a work of art and fiction but I found the film disconcerting and hard to watch at times because of how well researched it was. I am not trying to fear monger here or scare anyone but my question today is why are we screwing around with this at all? Why is President Trump even saying this, even if it is just a joke or baloney? It is part of our constitution and the very makeup of our U.S. government that Presidents are only allowed to serve two terms, changing that would be changing the very makeup of our country and would have cataclysmic consequences...
There are days where I am so happy and grateful with what President Trump is doing in his second term and then there are other moments where I am simultaneously confused and scared about things that could potentially spiral in the future. We will be discussing this all tonight on my 2way show. What do you guys think? Did this statement from President Trump make your heart jump in your chest a little bit like it did mine? Or is this just bloviating and not something that is real?
Today is a shorter post and I promise to write more as soon as possible. What news stories are you most interested in and would like me to cover? What are you most interested in, angry and, or excited about right now? Tell me everything and leave it in the comments or my DM's.
Spring is finally here and my favorite season of the intense heat of summer is fast approaching. I will be spending a good bit of the summer in Arizona this year. I am homesick and 2way allows me to travel when I want to. I look forward to my upcoming "Sedona Series" to share with you later in the year...
Speak soon.
Love,
Meghan
I’m interested to know what you’re so happy about that president Trump is doing.
Dear Meghan,
I am 83 and have over 50 direct descendants that will face the consequences of today’s actions. ( as will you and your children).
You have a platform to make a difference.
Please consider the many brave people that lost their lives protecting our country from fascism. Seek out the truth of what is happening to our society. It is no longer about any “policy’s” or the economy, if we do not agree on basic rule of law and the constitution, we will fall to a full fascist regime.
