Hello, Hello, Hello...

I truly am so happy you are here. No, really, I am thrilled you are here.

I have been throwing around the idea for what feels like forever about starting my own Substack newsletter…. and I have finally decided to rip off the band-aid right now on my 40th birthday.

Why Substack? Well, in the past few years, I have become a superfan of so many amazing writers, scientists, journalists and chefs - (yes, chefs!) here on the platform and have found it to be a wonderful way to have a closer and more intimate way of getting content from my favorite people and quite frankly I want to get in on the action.

I also have like so many other people become disenfranchised by the political slants, shadowbanning, and censorship on so many other platforms. In the past four months alone, I have been hacked twice on my X account, and want to have ultimate control over my content.

If you are interested in this Substack or me in general, you probably already know that I have been through a lot of life changes in the past few years and have recently launched my new podcast "Citizen McCain". I have honestly had such refreshingly strong and positive feedback since its launch in October 2023, that this time feels right to start opening up my life and opinions in a more personal way again in this type of intimate medium.

So, what will this be? It will be everything from my musings on the absolutely wild and crazy Presidential election, my thoughts on surviving and thriving in motherhood, The Real Housewives and reality TV drama, why I still hate and won't do Ozempic, how I feel about turning 40, a possible move to Arizona and everything in between. Honestly - just a rundown of every week both in the world and personally.

I also really want to hear from you and think this can be a space where we can share thoughts and feelings about what a polarized, scary, and intense place both America and our political space has become. I have found so much comfort in the solidarity among so many people feeling as overwhelmed as I have been going into the 2024 election.

It also feels wonderfully serendipitous to come back to the space where I started my career. For those of you who were around in the Stone Age, my entire career started because I created a daily personal blog on my Dad's 2008 presidential campaign. I am sure you can find relics of it around the bowels of the internet.
